Wama Hotel

First, Wama is an absolutely beautiful property. It is very quaint with only a handful of rooms and the architecture is amazing. The design of the property is an incredible tribute to the Baja California Sur landscape, and the hotel’s homage to its surroundings are very present in the interior design of the rooms as well. Second, Germán, the property manager, was incredibly nice, attentive, and responsive. Communicating with him was easy and he was very responsive to our questions. We also got to meet the owner of the property who was also very nice and welcoming. Third, we enjoyed the location and its very close proximity to the beach. After exiting the property the beach is just a minute or two walk away and it’s immediately visible. You can also hear waves crashing onto the beach from your room. Potential guests should keep in mind that there are no amenities or services on the property that you’d expect from a standard hotel, like a restaurant or bar, a gym, spa, or even a check in desk. You’ll have to drive a few minutes up the road or to into town for food. It’s also worth keeping in mind that many of the roads around the Todos Santos area are unpaved and bumpy. We were unaware of how bumpy the roads would be since we’d only been to Cabo San Lucas on previous trips to the area. It’s worth getting an SUV to navigate the roads to and around the property. Potential guests should also be aware that the owner of the hotel actually lives on the property in a beautiful home that blends in with the guest rooms. We initially thought he was a guest himself. This wasn’t a concern for us at all and we enjoyed meeting him, but I imagine some people may appreciate the heads up that you may run into the owner. Lastly, it’s helpful to know that the property — which is relatively small — is dog friendly. While this is not inherently an issue at all, my wife and I were confronted by two unleashed dogs owned by another hotel guest and both dogs ultimately charged at my wife after barking and growling at us. The other hotel guest/dog owner was not outside with his dogs during much of this incident and he was ineffective in controlling his pets when he did eventually come outside. We let Germán know what happened and he responded quickly. We were a bit uncomfortable being on the property immediately after that since it’s a fairly open space and the dogs could roam anywhere around us. I later mistook the hotel owner’s dog for one of the dogs that charged at us. Eventually, we were able to relax again and enjoy the space without worry. Overall, we loved Wama and we’ll consider staying there again when we make our next trip to the Todos Santos area.

This hotel was absolutely stunning. You can tell a lot of thought was put in to building the place. It’s nice and tucked away by the ocean. I was able to enjoy my coffee on the rooftop in the morning and the hot tub at night. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

We stayed in the Retiro Rothko room for 5 nights and had a lovely time. The location is great and only ~7min drive from the main town, although there’s a cluster of new restaurants 2min away (Aether, etc). Definitely rent a car while in Todos! The white sand beach is only a few min walk away, although the shore break waves can be a bit rough. The pool is pretty nice & the rooftop has great views, especially of the stars at night :). These are definitely more so villas & not really a hotel, as there wasn’t a daily cleaning service. I’m sure I could’ve asked for cleaning or extra towels if needed & it would’ve been sorted, but just something to expect. Overall these are beautifully designed villas in a great location managed by kind and attentive owners! Thanks for a great stay.

Wama is the best! Innovative design. Courteous, attentive hosts. The best hotel I’ve stayed in Baja so far. I will be returning! Highly recommended

Lots of space , light and good vibes Great details just 100 feet from the beach

We walked into our room and immediately felt so at peace, like we could breathe deeply. Every time you enter the space you feel such a sense of relief and relaxation. I haven't felt that so deeply at a place before. The hosts are incredible and sat with us for a long time talking about the concept and building process of this amazing place. WAMA has inspired us deeply. We were travelling with our one year old who also loved it and it's very kid friendly given its more set up for couples. He loved the pool, rooftop area and having the beach so nearby!

Amazing and unique. The rooms blend with the surroundings. The place is at walking distance from the beach and some excellent restaurants. Very safe. Peaceful, quiet, modern and minimalist. We saw whales, turtles and stayed away from crowds.

My favorite little gem in all of Totos Santos. Quiet, next to the most beautiful beach. Every detail in the architecture is perfect. Everyone running the place is wonderful. Star gazing on the roof. And the best part of all, the pool is salt water. So stylish, so beautiful, so relaxing. And it is 1/4th a price of everything not nearly as nice in town.
